Mar 15-16 took two days off, drove to Little Rock, Arkansas to pick a Phowler boat and
ProDrive mud rig after buying a matching trailer at Illowa Marine = tough couple
        of days on the road

Mar 17 sunny, temp around 60° - ran

fun, threw a couple of remote sit, honoring, stand alone singles and each ran a 100
            yard cold blind, slept well

note: Website editing capabilities are temporarily in limbo (Front Page extension
                        issues with the server)
note: official training starts April 1
st (How appropriate is that?)
note: record floods predicted for the Mississippi River = need to move duck camp
trailer to even higher ground early next week
Mar 19 ran
Gunny & Daisy at the Square pond DTA, a few stand alone singles & a cold
            blind (exercise) used mallard Dokken
Kooly & Taffey had the day off
Mar 20 day off – rained hard all day
Mar 21 sunny, forecast high 61° - exercised all four dogs + long walk
Mar 22 cooler, left to move trailer at Mississippi duck camp - record flood projection
Mar 23-28 six day forecasts clear & very cold = March is “going out like a lion” issue with

Gunny = missed physical cue (he bit me, discussed with Pete, tweaking a few
situations & mostly clarified the focus - awareness makes it manageable
Tuesday next ten days = 40’s and 50’s with four days of rain
Mar 29 forecast - sunny with a high of
45°….charge wingers modifications on boat finished
            trip to Illowa Marine,
Gunny went for a ride
Mar 30 cold & windy
Mar 31. 2011  ran
Gunny - easy, fun marks = exercise, his routines are different = he now
stays in different crates which are in different areas, focus on desensitization of “his
areas to "protect & simple, on lead OB to the airing yard with the other three, paying
close attention to his body language so that it becomes a 24/7, “no big deal” habit
for me plus he will be “too busy to target” anyone, his bowl possessiveness was
eliminated by feeding him in several different “venues”, a variety of very uniquely
different bowls and pans, off the floor & out of hand, using various crates and in
different locations uses the same logic, for example – he trades places with Daisy’s
crate living room), there is a secluded crate in the patio (good view), he can train out
of two different crate/boxes off the van (again switching with Daisy), the same Daisy
crate “switch” is done at the duck camp trailer = seven different “dens”

update from February 18, 2011: the established routines have placed Gunny's
issues in remission - maintenance, expectations and routines are working
note: remaining proactive and keeping awareness fresh is an ongoing focus
update from March 2013: Gunny will be running HRC Finished this summer,
his issues from the past are no longer a problem, hip issues remain an issue
which requires a close watch on training loads
